Depression has now become a household word, from searching the dictionary for the meaning and now teenagers using the word to address their problems the word has traveled a long way.This word was a long time due to share on my blog as it had a different impact on me.I have come across people struggling with extreme depression,that could never make them sleep, kept them in a constant fear.Few were trapped in a routine of tasks that was never ending which forcefully pushed them to that state.
The common notion what the world has on a depressed person is that , they think depressed people make fake excuses to escape their responsibilities ,they are weak , cant think clearly and lot more....but fail to understand even the world that is "we" were also the part of their depressing situation.Some people battle with depression due societal pressures. Depression like other social issues is also a societal concern.If you come across a news about suicide , it would have been a long battle of depression cycles the person underwent and the extreme outcome would have been the suicide.
Another cause of depression is we fail to spend time with our family due to the work we do.The best treasure we can have in our life is good health and a happy family. Your job can be replaceable but for your family your are not replaceable.Career is something we need to constantly build and focus on but not at the cost of our family's well being.(Disclaimer: Women out there not telling you to leave jobs to take care of kids , try balancing both.....again do what makes you happy..!). Often our career and depression makes cross roads with each other , its always wise to have a thick boundary between both.
What I inferred from people struggling with depression is that they need someone to hear their problems and support their views and connect with their emotions. They were not happy with the work or the life they had. In order to make work life happy, I suggest them to do what makes them happy or suggest them to learn ways to do the work in a happy way.
If I were to describe the word in english I can say its a "trap".Many people knowingly or unknowingly get into the trap, they feel alone in a crowd , they feel the work they do is no more meaningful.I may not be the best person to find how depressed you are , but can share few ways to heal your mind.
First thing you can do to make yourself comfortable is to observe your thoughts , try writing them down. Spend time with your friends whom you think make you feel better. Depression sometimes can originate from low self esteem, try building confidence by doing things you like the most. For students it may be the subjects they read give them depression as the scores go low their depression peaks,its better for them to spend some time on extra curricular activities.Adults have a lot of financial targets to achieve for them the best advice I can give(not a full adult though..!) is to plan their finances beforehand, Internet now has lot of financial advice to have a better idea of money.In the era of social media young adults aspire for a reel life but its totally uncertain to have one because a reel can never become real and stories remain as stories....life is meant to live.
I may not be perfect with all my views and opinions of the blogs I write , as a movie is an idea of a director , his perspective , my blog is also a reflection of my personal experience and my teams data collection journey.
